The greatest market in London
Greenwich Market has a wonderful, buzzing atmosphere and is fondly regarded as one of London's best markets thanks to its commitment to showcasing designer makers - those people who design, create, paint and photograph what they sell.
The market is open Wednesdays through to Sundays (and Bank Holidays) but many of the shops within the market, plus those on Turnpin Lane and Warwick Leadlay Gallery on Nelson Arcade are open all week round - as are the Admiral Hardy and Coach and Horses pubs.
On Wednesdays a food market features local suppliers offering fresh and organic produce. On Thursdays and Fridays the market specialises in antiques and collectables, arts and crafts. The charming stalls are lovely to browse and there are many bargains to be had.
The market really comes alive though at the weekends with 150 stalls trading side-by-side, selling an enticing range of jewellery, pictures, clothes and accessories, and unique gifts. And at the food court you'll be taken on a culinary trip around the world - choose from Korean noodles, Caribbean curry, Italian nougat, French crepes and of course, good old bacon sarnies.
So if you want to buy jewellery made from forks, get a massage at Complementary Corner, buy a Manic Manx at Bea's Beastlies or just saunter and soak in the best independent shopping in London, you are most welcome.
And there's the Clocktower Market too!
This quirky weekend market has been around for over 30 years, and specialises in vintage, retro and antiques. Every day is different, but you'll find vintage clothing, old and new jewellery, books, records, antique furniture and all kinds of collectables. With merchandise spanning three centuries, it's a great place to buy a piece of history in historic Greenwich.
Open every Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 4pm, the market is just a two minute walk from Greenwich Market, on Greenwich High Road, next to the Greenwich Picturehouse cinema.
