Emma and Juliette are both passionate about providing unique items for your home and lifestyle. The aim is simple, to create a stylish accessory which reflects your individuality and taste, with that extra special twist or angle which makes you and your home stand out from the crowd.
The way we see the products, is to take a contemporary spin on their love of the glamour, style and nostalgia of the past, turning their finds and home styling into truly beautiful stylish and modern accessories for your lifestyle.
They lovingly create goods which are less about twee nostalgia for vintage accessories, recreated and mass produced across the high street and more about lovingly designed and crafted goods. Their home wares and accessories are vintage in style but tasteful, sexy, original and fun.
All items are sympathetically hand made in Greenwich and Berkshire using original vintage textiles sourced within the UK and Europe. Complementing their vintage finds they occasionally use fabrics which stand out as suitable and stylish accompaniments to their stock of original fabrics and trims.
A fun part of the design process is constantly sourcing original fabrics and coming up with new ideas. Watch this space for charming padded covers for any new Christmas goods, like i-pads or kindle covers!
Emma’s background in sewing goes back generations, as her mother is a brilliant seamstress and made clothes and home wares for all her family and friends. It’s her mum, Mary, who taught Emma the skill of patchwork, all done by hand which Emma still cheerfully sews, the gorgeous results which are for sale now on their stall. Emma believes sewing should be fun and is eager to pass on her skills not only to her own daughters, Evie and Erin but also as part of the “sewing parties” they have recently set up for little ones parties.
Juliette's background is in design. As a little girl in the 1970’s she spent weekends with her dad and stepmum at Greenwich Market where they sold antiques. She remembers being squashed in the back of their three wheeler van, just like ‘Only fools and horses’ with boxes of sparkling Victorian jewellery and clothes packed all around her! A degree in design history and a compulsion to collect all sorts of 20th century design, has led her to designing and up-cycling fabulous products herself.
