Greenwich Goes Green
is back and is bigger and ‘greener’ with educational activities and demonstrations from green fingered shop owners and stall holders; and visiting eco experts keen to help visitors cut their carbon foot print, advise about local sustainable issues and offer just the best eco shopping experience. VIP eco experts include
- Come by bike and Dr Bike will give it a free MOT and fix any minor repairs on the spot
- RSPB – learn how to make recycled bird feeders and help revive London’s declining house Sparrow population
- Sign up to a locally grown organic vegbox delivery from Riverford and receive a free copy of the Riverford Farm cookbook
- Chat to tapwater.org about the damaging effects of bottled water on the environment and invest in their stainless steel reusable water bottle – all profits go tomains fed water machines for educational establishments.
- Thames 21will talk about SE London river management, and local ecologists plus bugs will be on hand from The Creekside Discovery Centre and Greenwich Peninsula Ecology Park.
- Make your own carbon neutral smoothie with goodies from The Juice Bar blended by your own pedal power!
Local green retailers will have lots of advice to give over the two days too – must visit stalls and shops include So Organic, Greenwich Baby, Greenlands, Emma Nissim, Wear Chemistry, Miss Libby Rose and many more.
