Lantern Parade
Greenwich Market covered market with its vibrant atmosphere and commitment to showcasing designer makers, is fondly regarded as one of London's best markets. Christmas is no exception when the market plays host to up to 150 craft and designer maker stalls. Discover great gift ideas and stocking fillers, original artworks and handcrafted toys, fashions and handmade jewellery, beauty treats and food and drink of a festive nature.
On Wednesday 30 November the Christmas festivities at Greenwich Market begin with the local school children’s lantern procession and the switching on of the Christmas sparkly lights. The parade will start at 4pm in the Old Royal Naval College and ends in the Market at 4.30pm where children can visit Father Christmas in his grotto as well as meet characters from this year’s pantomime, Aladdin. The lights will be switched on after a big count down. All can join in singing Christmas Carols and enjoy tasty mince pies and warm beverages and then shop late through to 7pm.
